Michael D. Ruch, 64, of Barnhart died Monday, March 18, at his home. Mr. Ruch grew up in Pevely and retired as a salesman from Midwest Associated/Dieb Enterprises in Hillsboro. He was a member of the Show-Me Woodturners in Festus. He enjoyed “underground woodworking” in his basement woodshop and playing with his dogs, Baby and Chico. Born Aug. 5, 1964, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Rosemary (Reece) and Walter P. Ruch Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia (Maddox) Ruch; a daughter: Holly Hartman of Wentzville; a son: Ameal (Tracy) Lemons II of Dexter; eight grandsons: Scott Dorsey, Dalton Edmonds, Dakoda Edmonds, Ethan Ruch, Erik Schmidt, Jeremy Schmidt, Ameal Lemons III and Andrew Ward; a brother: Donald E. Ruch of Arnold; and a niece: Christie (Verlon) Curd of Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Walter P. “Sonny” (the late Elisa J.) Ruch Jr.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. and a funeral service is scheduled fo5r 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pevely at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
