Michael Boczek, 70, of Shiloh, Ill., formerly of Festus, died Dec. 11, 2020, in Shiloh. Mr. Boczek was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Ameren for more than 30 years. He was born Feb. 1, 1950, in St. Louis, the son of the late Frank J. and Charlotte M. (Sak) Boczek.
He is survived by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as his beloved chihuahua, Cali.
Memorials may be made to the Belleville Humane Society or to Heartland Hospice.
Visitation is at 8 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights, Ill. Burial with military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kassly Mortuary.
