Matthew James Pfohl, 43, of Oakville, formerly of Pevely, died Nov. 8, 2017. Mr. Pfohl was a carpenter and an Eagle Scout who loved nature. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Church. Born Sept. 26, 1974, in St. Louis County, he was the son of Melvajean (Schwent) and Percy Wayne Pfohl of Ste. Genevieve.

He is survived by two sons: Keoni and Skylar Pfohl of Potosi; a daughter: Alissa Pfohl of De Soto; two sisters: Melody Dorner of Crystal City and Mindy (Nick) Damico of Arnold; a grandmother: Dorothy Schwent Jones; a companion: Deanna Strong; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by three grandparents: Melvin L. Schwent, James Butler and Mary Kathleen Pfohl.

Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at Queen of All Saints Church in Oakville. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, Arnold.
