Matthew D. Arnold, 38, of Pevely died Feb. 15, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County from a work-related injury. Mr. Arnold was a union carpenter and a member of the Catholic faith. He loved bumming at the lake, going to concerts and spending time with family, friends and co-workers. He will be a hero to many because he chose to be an organ donor. Born May 6, 1982, in St. Louis, he was the son of Connie (Traska) and Mark Arnold of Hillsboro.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister: Paige (Bryan) Smeltzer of Maplewood; three nieces K'Lei, Payton and Ember; and numerous other family and friends.
The family plans to hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Louis.
