Mary Louise Dix, 83, of Ellisville, formerly of Herculaneum, died May 19, 2015, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mrs. Dix was a former cook at Herculaneum High School. In recent years, she made her home at The Fountains of West County. Born Dec. 31, 1931, in Ste. Genevieve, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Ernst) and Eugene Nanney. She was preceded in death by her husband: William David “Bill” Dix Jr.
She is survived by a daughter: Tina (Paul) Wesley of Ballwin; a brother: Robert (Rita) Nanney of Festus; a sister-in-law: Virginia Nanney; two grandchildren: Brittany (Brandon) Hartloge of Ballwin and Brandon Wesley of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and numerous friends at The Fountains of West County.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Lillian (the late Thomas) Leitterman; and two brothers: Francis J. Nanney and Eugene Nanney.
A funeral service was held May 26 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Papp of SouthField Church in Channahon, Ill. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Living Water International at www.water.cc. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
