Mary Lou LaFloure, 86, of Crystal City died July 12, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. LaFloure was a retired art teacher for Crystal City High School and former librarian for Festus High School. She was an accomplished artist, working in a variety of media, and was a former board member of the St. Louis Watercolor Society, a member of the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild and a member of the Ozark Fiber Spinners. Born July 3, 1936, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Helen Bertha (Vogt) and Russell E. Renfro.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wiley Clark “Pat” LaFloure.
She is survived by a daughter: Michelle (Greg) Spencer of Festus; a son: Thomas A. (Charlotte) LaFloure of St. Louis; a sister: Donna (Ron) Buehler of Crystal City; three brothers: James R. (Betty Black) Renfro of Protem, Ark., Kenneth L. (Pam) Renfro of Deland, Fla., and Paul David (Carla) Renfro of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren: James D. (Natasha) LaFloure Jr., Jeffrey (Amy) Coleman, Jessica (Gary) Hite, Zack Maupin and Shawna (Jason) Gaither; and three great-grandchildren: Gavin Hite and Hudson and Wiley LaFloure.
She was preceded in death by a son: James LaFloure; a brother: Richard Wayne (the late Lee Ann) Renfro; and a grandson: Russell LaFloure.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Terry Crank. Memorials may be made to the Ozark Food Pantry or American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
