Mary Ellen DeRousse, 71, of De Soto died Feb. 29, 2020, at her home. Mrs. DeRousse was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and spending time with her family. Born Oct. 26, 1948, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Dorothy (Livengood) Pashia.
She is survived by her husband: David Eugene DeRousse of De Soto; two daughters: Lori Ann (Jerry) Payne of Festus and Lisa Ann DeRousse of De Soto; a sister: Dorothy M. (Richard) Whaley of De Soto; a sister-in-law: Joyce Pashia of Victoria; six grandchildren: Jerry Payne, Megan Payne, Cayden Payne, Karli Payne, Randel David Risenhoover and Jacob Earl Risenhoover; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Tom Pashia.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for noon Wednesday, March 4, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
