Mary Elizabeth Pirkle, 82, of Barnhart died Dec. 4, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. Mrs. Pirkle worked for the Northwest R-1 School District, Walmart and Bates Creek Camp before retiring from the Chrysler Corp. She was a member of Jefferson Heights Baptist Church in Imperial. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cake decorating and activities with her family. She was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Festus, the daughter of the late Alberta E. (Schanz) and Hubert E. Huber.
She is survived by her husband: Richard Pirkle Sr.; four sons: Richard (Stacy) Pirkle Jr. of Killeen, Texas, Wayne Pirkle of Cedar Hill, Tyler (Sharon) Pirkle of Ste. Genevieve and Doug (Cynthia) Pirkle of Hillsboro; three brothers: Virgil Huber of Arnold, John (Patricia) Huber of Barnhart and Louis Huber of De Soto; three sisters: Frieda (John) Hogan of Van Buren, Alice (Oliver) McKinney of Festus and Nancy (Dennis) Hoffman of Festus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: Aaron Pirkle; two brothers: David and Jerry Huber; a sister-in-law: Carol Huber; and a great-grandson: Jeffery Pirkle Jr.
Services will be held at a later date.
