Mary E. Pouliezos, 85, of De Soto died Jan. 1, 2017, in De Soto. Mrs. Pouliezos was a medical records director at Jefferson Memorial Hospital (now Mercy Hospital Jefferson) in Crystal City. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and enjoyed playing cards, bowling and oil painting. Born Nov. 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Louise (O’Farrell) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis Pete Pouliezos.
She is survived by four children: Michael (Connie) Pouliezos of De Soto, Patrick (Lynette) Pouliezos of De Soto, Tommy (Jodi) Pouliezos of Imperial and Mary Pouliezos of De Soto; four foster children: Michael, Patricia, David and Mark Cassidy; a half brother: David (the late Betty) Mueller of De Soto;a half sister-in-law: Betty Mueller; and five grandchildren: Heather (P-Nut Rigdon) Pouliezos, Rachel (Nick) Gibbs, Casey Pouliezos, Haley Pouliezos and Jessica (Sarah) Gresco.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Maude (Ozwald) Imhoff and JoAnn (Clarence) Bedford; seven half sisters: Louise (John) O’Rourke, Pearl (Lee) McCutcheon, Gladys (Robert) McKay, Thelma (Owen) Finney, Olive (Kirk) Perryman, Ruby (William) Groff and Thelma (Ed) Lucas; six half brothers: Charles (Corine) Wilson, Everette Theodore (Adele) Wilson, Raymond (Juanita) Wilson, Lee (Juanita) Wilson, Frank (Jewel) Wilson and Robert Mueller; and two grandchildren: Chelsey and Cheyenne Pouliezos).
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
