Mary Charlotte Govero, 87, of Festus died Oct. 27, 2019, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Govero was a retired office worker for Union Electric in Festus. She was a charter member of Our Lady Church in Festus, where she was a longtime member of the Our Lady Choir. Born Jan. 15, 1932, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Catherine Elizabeth (Maier) Horn.
She is survived by her husband: Arley Govero; two sons: Gregory (Charlotte) Govero of Fenton and John (Kathy) Govero of Festus; two daughters: Laura (Mark) Schmidt of south St. Louis County and Lee Ann Daming of St. Charles; a sister: Regina (the late Joseph) Hampton of Wentzville, 11 grandchildren: Raymond Govero, Erica (Dennis) Siebert, Leslie (Cody) Bahr, Jennifer Govero, Nick Govero, Mary (Darin) Henley, Eric Schmidt, Amy Schmidt, Jason (Tara) Daming, Brian (Julia) Daming and Mark Daming; and four great-grandchildren: Charley Bahr, Colton Bahr, Conner Siebert and Blake Siebert.
She is preceded in death by a daughter: Leslie Rose Govero; and a brother: Robert L. (the late Carla Mae) Horn.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Our Lady Church, followed by a funeral service officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the choir fund at Our Lady Church in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
