Mark Howard Smith, 65, of Festus died July 26, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. He was a foremen with the Carpenters Union Local 2214 and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Born March 13, 1955, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Agnes Emma (Korte) and Howard Ivan Smith.
He is survived by his wife: Carol (Lenzen) Smith; a daughter: Sandra Marie (Jeff) Nichols of Hillsboro; a son: Curtis Howard Smith of Festus; a sister: Lynn Marie (Michael) Pritchard of Ware; and six grandchildren: Katie Nichols, Emma Nichols, Lauren Nichols, Blake Nichols, Tyler Smith, Alex Smith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Smith and infant Allen David Smith.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro, officiated by Father Ray Buehler. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
