Marilyn Shepard Schwab, 71, of Arnold died Aug. 8, 2018, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Schwab was born Sept. 25, 1946, in New Orleans, La., the daughter of the late Theodore Howell and Myrtle Easton Shepard. She attended McDonough High School in New Orleans and graduated from Louisiana State University, beginning her teaching career in Louisville, Ky. She met her husband there, and they relocated to the St. Louis area, where she taught at St. George School in Affton. Her love for life, her compassion and her capacity to spread joy had an impact on students as well as family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years: William F. Schwab; two daughters: Jennifer Rebecca (Geoff) Wright of Pevely and Amy Elizabeth Schwab of Bridgeton; four grandchildren: Austin, Dalton, Ashley and Kyle; four siblings: Patricia Litzinger of Houston, Texas, Barbara Morris of Penhook, Va., Theodore Shepard III of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Susan Zimmermann of New Orleansl and an extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins spread around the country.
Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, at St. John Catholic Church, 4614 Blue Springs Road, in Imperial. Burial is in the St. John Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John Church in Imperial. Arrangements are under the direction of St. Louis Cremation.
