Marilyn “Jeannie” Alfred, 57, of Barnhart died April 5, 2014, in Barnhart. Mrs. Alfred was a homemaker and a member of the Arnold Church of Christ. Born Dec. 12, 1956, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Mary Bozark of Cahokia, Ill., and the late J.C. Utley.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: Neal Alfred; a son: Joseph Alfred of Barnhart; two daughters: Amanda (Bryan) Bartsch of Fenton and Lindsay (Jason) Boyet of Barnhart; two brothers: Joe Utley of Dupo, Ill., and Jerry Utley of Cahokia; a sister: Janet Utley of St. Louis; and five grandchildren: Tyler, Caitlyn and Sammy Bartsch of Fenton and Jillian and Sydney Boyet of Barnhart.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Jeff Utley; and a grandson: Noah Bartsch.
Funeral services were held April 12 at Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke, Ark., officiated by Don Bahr and Sam Jenkins. Burial was in the Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Home Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould AR 72450. Arrangements were under the direction of Irby Funeral Home.
