Marie Crites, 87, of House Springs, died March 23, 2021, in Fenton. Mrs. Crites was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in House Springs, where she worked in the kitchen and attended fellowship events. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and birdwatching. Born Sept. 15, 1933, in Desloge, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Henry Gillette.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years: Bob Crites; four children: David (Kathy) Crites, Debbie Robinson, Diana (Gary) Land and Darlene (Bret Triplett) Koenigstein; 10 grandchildren: Clinton, Jennifer, Derek, Tiffany, Crystal, Matthew, Heather, Timothy, Brittany and Brandon; 18 great-grandchildren: Jarren, Leo, Gavin, Skyler, Bella, Kynan, Gabe, Braden, Tyler, Kaylee, Felicity, Madison, Raelynn, Nolan, Trinity, Korben, Aiden and Alivia; a great-great-grandson: Jaxson; a sister: Dorothy Johnson; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Kyndall; and three siblings: Carol Niblak, Bobby Gillette and Jim Gillette.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 29, at First Baptist Church of House Springs, 4375 Gravois Road, in House Springs, followed by funeral services. Burial will follow at Local Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill.
