Hammon, Margaret

Margaret “Midge” Hammon, 67, of Festus died April 22, 2022, at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. Ms. Hammon was a retired teacher, having spent many years in the Dunklin R-5 School District. She was passionate about teaching and loved every student who entered her classroom. In her free time, she enjoyed scrapbooking, painting, playing games, watching baseball and football games and traveling. She had a second home in Wisconsin, where she was close to the water and snow she loved. Born Feb. 12, 1955, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Mary-Ann Douthitt and Turner Melvin Lively.

She is survived by her two daughters: Megan (Bradley) Doege of Sheboygan Falls and Michelle Hammon of Festus; eight siblings: Cindy Lively of Festus, Lori-Anne Lively of Festus, Tina (Todd) Smallegan of Festus, Barb (Doug) Harju of Imperial, Tim Lively of Imperial, Tom (Patti) Lively of High Ridge, Terri (John) Ferguson of St. Louis and Jamie (Theresa) Lively of Festus; a niece and nephew she considered her own: Chelsea Lively and Shane (Jennifer) Lively; 10 additional nieces and nephews: Jacob (Melissa) Harju, Adam Harju, Derek Lively, Tanya Lively, Chris Lively, Sarah Rodenhofer, Erin (Neil) Gross, CJ Lively, Brooke Lively and Alex Lively; two grandchildren: Gabby Lively and Roman Lively, who called her “Maw Midgie;” and many friends. She was preceded in death by a brother: Christopher Lively

A celebration of life will be scheduled for late summer. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Special Olympics. Arrangements were under the direction of Ballhorn Chapel in Sheboygan.
