Margaret Jane Judge, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Crystal City, died Nov. 5, 2019, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Judge was a 1945 graduate of Milbank High School and a 1950 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in her husband’s medical practice. She was an active member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus for many of the 56 years she lived in Crystal City. Born Aug. 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Ruby Orth. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. Walter Thomas Judge, whom she married Aug. 19, 1950, in Milbank, S.D.
She is survived by three sons: Dr. Tim (Mary Jo) Judge of Lincoln, Neb., Tom Judge of Jefferson City and Dr. Steve (Sandra) Judge of Eureka; a daughter: Mary (Kirk) Buxton of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren: Jonathan Judge of Denver, Colo., Dr. Daniel (Dr. Casey) Judge of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Matthew (Cailin) Judge of Vancouver, Wash., Caitlin (Josh) Knutson of Hastings, Neb., Patrick Judge of Pacific, Greg Judge of St. Louis; Brendan Judge of Eureka and Dr. Kent Buxton of St. Louis; four great-grandchildren: Cate Horvath, Henry Judge, Margot Judge and Broin Knutson; and a sister: Elizabeth (Neil) Elliot of Fort Collins, Colo.
Visitation is at noon and a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m Saturday, Nov. 16, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, to the Cathedral of St. Mary in Cape Girardeau or to St. Pius X High School in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
