Margaret G. Wiles, 99, of Festus died Aug. 23, 2019, at Festus Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Wiles was a longtime member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Festus and the American Legion Post 3777 Auxiliary. She was a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader who enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. Born Jan. 11, 1920, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Loretta (Egli) and Charles Richter.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilburn Cleveland Wiles.
She is survived by a daughter: Betty Aders of Hematite; a son: Wilburn Robert Wiles of Festus; a brother: Charles (Betty) Richter of St. Louis; a brother-in-law: Ralph (Bonnie) Wiles of Brinktown; four grandchildren: Timothy (Jackie) Wiles of Arnold, Kelly (Ray) Stevenson of Boynton Beach, Fla., Tony (Nikki) Picarella of New Port Richey, Fla., and Cristal (Kelly Mooney) Cunningham of Pevely; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Dorothy (the late James) Cheatham; a brother: Robert Richter; a son-in-law: Dan Aders; and a daughter-in-law: Debbie Wiles.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Lari Grubbs. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
