Margaret Edith Hensley, 79, of Festus, formerly of Arnold, died Sept. 11, 2017, at Festus Manor. Ms. Hensley was a seamstress and a homemaker. Born Oct. 24, 1937, in St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Stanley W. and Elizabeth (McCulloch) Duke.
She is survived by a brother: Stanley B. (Lois) Duke of Fenwick, Ontario, Canada; five children: Danielle “Dee Dee” DeLong, Kelly (Alan) Waddle of Anderson, Calif., Michelle “Shelly” (Keith) Stiefvater of Affton, Eugene “Gene” (Christy) Hensley of Imperial and Elizabeth “Beth” (Jeff) Winkler of Crestwood; 13 grandchildren: Daniel (Jessica) Boesing of Hillsboro, Michelle (Jon) Messenger of Dittmer, Amanda and Cody Waddle of San Diego, Calif., Courtney, Trevor, and Hunter Stiefvater of Affton, Tyler Quinn, Rylee and Carter Hensley of Imperial and Jeff, Jake, and Josh Winkler of Crestwood; a sister-in-law: Willa Duke of Stirling, Ontario; and three nieces: Ginette Duke-Riel of St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Lisa Cooke of Kitchner, Ontario, and Rhian Duke of Stirling, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her former husband: Donald G. Hensley; her longtime companion: Linn Lashley; a brother: James A. “Jimmy” Duke; and a nephew: Shawn M. Duke.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A luncheon will follow at Rizzo’s Restaurant at 4460 Lemay Ferry Road. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
