Madge Elizabeth (Coplin) Klable, 87, of Festus died April 24, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Klable was the manager at Buggy Stop for many years and attended St Luke's United Church of Christ. She loved Jesus with all her heart and created an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family and guests. She served many seasons as a softball coach and enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and spending time with family. She also had a love of all things Christmas, winning many contests by decorating her homes through the years. She was born May 12, 1933, in Pevely, the daughter of the late Linnie (Reece) Coplin Lewis and Charles O. Coplin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years: Kenneth Klable, whom she married Feb. 19, 1950, in Arkansas.
She is survived by a son: Kenneth (Diana Miller) Klable of Arnold; four daughters: Brenda (Mark) Day of Festus, Karen Aubuchon of Festus, Cheryl (Paul) Richardson of Pevely and Diane (Matt) Riordan; a daughter-in-law: Pam Klable; a sister: Edith "Lucy" (Charlie) Johnson of Mapaville; two sisters-in-law: Patricia (Wayne) Timeus and Arlein Simpson; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Rickey Klable; a son-in-law: Paul Richardson; six brothers: Charles "Curly" Coplin, James "Red" Coplin, Dennis Coplin, William "Bill" Coplin, Daniel Coplin and Edward Coplin; four sisters: Coeen Medley, Anna Coplin, Wilma Coplin and Alberta Fluegel; and a great-granddaughter: Bethany Day.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Ryan Johnson. Burial will follow in the Burgess Cemetery in Imperial. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
