Lucille Mary Warden, 95, of De Soto died Dec. 22, 2021, at her home. Ms. Warden was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Richwoods. She enjoyed watching tennis, cooking, country music, dancing and visiting flea markets and garage sales. Born Oct. 24, 1926, in Bliss, she was the daughter of the late Francis Merseal and Eva (Sampson) Merseal.
She is survived by three sons: Lawerence “Larry” Warden of De Soto, Francis "Bud" (Gail) Warden of Columbia, Ill., and Kevin Warden of De Soto; three daughters: Peggy Warden of De Soto, Brenda (Mike) Wilson of Festus and Diane (Brad) Koogler of Festus; and a brother: Gene (Shelby) DeClue of Festus. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Mary Frances Warden; a daughter: Janice Litton; two brothers: Everett (Lucille) Merseal and Daley (Kate) Merseal; two sisters: Verna (Charles) DeClue and Teresa (Arthur) Guenther; and a granddaughter: Angela Warden.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Richwoods, officiated by Father Robert Knight. Burial will follow in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Richwoods. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
