Louise M. Muzzey, 92, of De Soto died Dec. 13, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Muzzey worked for the Missouri Division of Employment Security and was a real estate agent for Ira E. Berry Real Estate Co. She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in De Soto; the Joachim Social Club; a charter member of the St. Charles Women’s Investment Club; and a member of the St. Louis Tip Toppers. She loved gardening, flowers, feeding birds and raising monarch butterflies. Born Dec. 8, 1927, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Celestine B. (Ross) Bernhardt. She was preceded in death by her husband: Warren Muzzey.
She is survived by two children: Donna (David Dandridge) Postel of St. Louis and Michael (Susan) Muzzey of Imperial; a sister: Margie (the late Dee) Phipps of De Soto; and two grandchildren: Scott (Carol St. Amour) Race and Brenna (Michael Tully) Race.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Bill (Margaret) Bernhardt and David Bernhardt.
A memorial gathering will begin at 11 a.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev.
