Loretta F. Dukes, 77, of St. Louis, formerly of Crystal City, died Jan. 20, 2019, at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles. Ms. Dukes was a caregiver. She enjoyed drawing, doing yard work, playing cards and games, and spending time with her family. She also was a great storyteller. Born Aug. 9, 1941, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Flavis (Henderson) Dukes.
She is survived by two brothers: Theodore (Brenda) Barran of Las Vegas, Nev., and Felix (Lucretia) Dukes of Kansas; four sisters: Lillie (Charles) Mitchell of Albuquerque, N.M., Charlene Brown of Festus, Alva Jane Brock of St. Louis and Iris Blanks of St. Louis; 23 nephews and 14 nieces.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Melvin Dukes.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral services at noon Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton and Pastor Christopher Malone Sr. Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Rescue Mission. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
