Lorene Elizabeth “Cookie” Weaver, 91, of Decatur, Ill., formerly of Pevely, died Dec. 2, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Weaver worked on the assembly line for General Motors in St. Louis for many years. Born Jan. 27, 1923, in Alton, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Wheeler Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Opal Weaver, whom she married on Aug. 10, 1946, in Barnhart.
She is survived by a daughter: Kerry D. (Jon) Phipps of Decatur, Ill.; a son: Kevin B. Weaver of Festus; four granddaughters: Dawne E. Reynolds, Michelle L. Tuttle, Krystal Weaver and Kaitlyn Weaver, five great-grandchildren: a brother: Jacob (Edith) Sheaffer of Imperial; and four sisters: Freda (Bob) Lawrence of Wood River, Ill., Fanny Howland of St. Genevieve, Mable (Bud) Pounds of Houston and Betty (Chuck) Davis of Houston.
She was preceded in death by five siblings; and a grandson: Brian Titsworth.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Herculaneum Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care in Decatur , Ill.
