Lonnie H. Boyd, 84, of Hillsboro died March 9, 2022, at his home. Mr. Boyd was a retired machinist with Union Electric. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus. Born March 28, 1937, in Danby, he was the son of the late Jewell (Hayes) and Roy Boyd.
He is survived by his wife Gloria (Baker) Boyd; three sons: Lonnie (Sharon) Boyd of Festus, Bryan (Kim) Boyd of Festus and Kevin (Krista) Boyd of Nixa; two sisters: Joyce (Carl) Tuller of Festus and Beverly (the late Vernon) Herrell of Farmington; seven grandchildren: Taylor (Katie) Boyd, Blake (Katie) Boyd, Kaileen Boyd, Kelsey Boyd, Kendall Boyd, Kacey Boyd and Keric Boyd; and six great-grandchildren: Ryah Boyd, Gideon Boyd, Ramsey Boyd, Layne Boyd, Tyler Boyd and Jack Boyd.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Second Baptist Church in Festus, officiated by the Rev. James Waymire and the Rev. James King.
