Lola Bessie Hensley, 92, of Bonne Terre, formerly of Festus, died May 22, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Hensley was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Festus. Born Sept. 11, 1925, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Bessie (Litton) and Raymond Potter. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Marvin Hensley
She is survived by a son: Terry K. (Vicky) Hensley of Lonedell; a daughter: Linda N. (the late David) Twomey of Bonne Terre; eight grandchildren: Terry K. (Tonita) Hensley II, Dawn (Kurt) Heigl, Travis Curry, Tawniece (Tony Hollingsworth) Curry, Jimmy (Tammy) Curry, James (Jennifer) Nichols, Janice (Anthony) Merseal and Daniel (Victoria) Twomey; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Diana Lynn Hensley; a sister: Marjorie (the late John) Wegmann; and three brothers: Donald (the late Dorothy) Potter, Everette (the late Patricia) Potter and Luther George Potter.
A funeral service was held May 24 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Pastor Mike Hoggard. Burial was in the Sandy Baptist Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
