Lillie Fay Buenniger, 93, of Festus died July 23, 2015, at Festus Manor Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Buenniger was the owner/operator of Local Bar in Festus and a member of VFW Post 3777 Ladies Auxiliary. Born April 9, 1922, in Bernie, she was the daughter of the late Magdeline (Casner) and Monroe Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband: Christian Frederick “Fred” Buenniger.
She is survived by a daughter: Mary Frances “Fran” (the late Phillip) McCoy of Festus; a son: Christian Frederick “Chris” (Deborah) Buenniger Jr. of Festus; three grandchildren: Donald W. (Luz) Biehle of Rowlett, Texas, Christian F. (Kelly) Buenniger III of Villa Ridge and Nicholas F. Buenniger of Festus; and three great-grandchildren: Ella V. Biehle, Blaynee Buenniger and Braelyn Buenniger.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Arthur, William and Curtis Boone; and a sister: Pansy Holland.
Mrs. Buenniger chose to donate her body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Funeral services were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
