Lila Loraine Medley, 84, of De Soto died March 8, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Medley was a supervisor for the De Soto Shoe Co. and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in De Soto. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, bird watching and cooking. Born Aug. 24, 1930, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Lottie M. (Politte) Blum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale M. Medley, who died in November 2008.
She is survived by five daughters: Deborah (Mark) Landau of Dittmer, Kathy Medley of De Soto, Karen Medley of De Soto, Susan (Marty) Coleman of De Soto and Donna Smith of De Soto; a son: John (Lori) Warren of Pevely; a grandson: Matthew Dale Coleman of De Soto; three brothers: William W. (Frances) Blum of De Soto, Howard D. (Nancy) Blum of Crystal City and Allen G. (Linda) Blum of St. Charles; a sister: Mary H. Dowell of Kansas City; a sister-in-law: Janet Blum of De Soto; and special friends Bobbie Prater and Benita Coleman, both of De Soto.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Charles H. Blum.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12,at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Michael Rose. Burial will be in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 42, Memphis, TN 38148-01422. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
