Lester M. Fielder, 85, of De Soto died April 1, 2019, at his home. Mr. Fielder was retired from the General Motors assembly plant in Wentzville, where he worked as a relief man and a shop steward. He was a member of United Auto Workers 25 in Hazelwood and a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge 119 in De Soto. Born Jan. 10, 1934, in Portageville, he was the son of the late Jennie E. (Hawkins) and John A. Fielder.
He is survived by his wife: Hazel (Oquin) Fielder, whom he married May 23, 1953, in Piggott, Ark.; five children: Rhonda (Joe) Manno of De Soto, Hal “Bud” (Beth) Fielder of Hillsboro, Mark (Bobby) Fielder of Windsor, Kelly Fielder of Festus and Steven Fielder of De Soto; a son-in-law: Michael Frazier of Arnold; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandra Frazier; and 10 siblings: Kathleen Corgan, Burl Fielder, Virgie White, Olive Wells, Harold Fielder, Magdalen White, James Fielder, Joey Fielder, Coley Fielder and Carl Fielder.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
