Lester Frank Ruch, 78, of Festus died Feb. 11, 2019, at The Villas in De Soto. Mr. Ruch was a boilermaker. He also was a volunteer at Jefferson County Reserves and a member of Boilermakers 27 and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing and singing classic country music. Born April 8, 1940, in Perryville, he was the son of the late William Ruch and Laura (Lunsford) Bumann.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Carol (Duncan) Ruch of Festus; two sons: Frankie (Donna) Ruch of De Soto and Michael (Susan) Ruch of Festus; two brothers: Joe (Norma) Ruch of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Vence (Sherrie) Bumann of Hillsboro; one sister: Wilma (Larry) Phillips of Maryville, Ill.; five grandchildren: Amber, Tyler, Jennifer, Michael and Mason; and one great-granddaughter: Gracie.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Raymond Ruch; and one sister-in-law: Carol Ruch.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Burial will be at Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
