Lester Edward Benson, 69, of House Springs died June 1, 2018, at his home. Mr. Benson was a member of Hillview Acres Good News Church in House Springs and enjoyed being involved with the food pantry at the church. Lester enjoyed yard work and fishing. His motto for life was “take one day at a time.”

Born July 30, 1948, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Lester Wardner and Loretta Agnes (Shannon) Benson. He was preceded in death by his wife: Grace L. (Hill) Benson.

He is survived by three children: Rob (Amanda) Benson of St. Louis, Cindy Benson Haspil of Chicago and Kimberly (Bill) Hanley of Chicago; two stepchildren: Charlie Condor of Washington, Mo., and Ken (Heather) Condor of Branson; 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kayla, Kristina, Eric, Joseph, Christopher, Breanna, Philip, Emily, Savannah, Payton, Charlene, Matthew, Ellen Jane, Mason and Matilda; one sister: Mary Benson of Chicago; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Hillview Acres Good News Church, 5608 Mark Trail, in House Springs. Flowers may be sent to the church the day of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
