Leonard “Len”: E. Ballard, 72, of Old Mines died May 3, 2020, in St. Louis. Mr. Ballard was a retired carpenter who served in the U.S. Army. He was a Lutheran. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, the outdoors and being a disk jockey. He was born Oct. 14, 1947, in St. Louis, the son of the late Rose Elizabeth (Heck) and Leonard Merle Ballard.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Cathy (Watkins) Ballard; four children: Patty (Poliette) Ballard, Mike Ballard and Rob Ballard, all of De Soto, and Gene (Melissa) Johnson of Bonne Terre; a sister: Rosann (Gary) Lucas of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Leonard “Lenny” Ballard.
A celebration of life was private.
