Larry Richard Newkirk, 55, of De Soto died Jan. 27, 2017, at his home. Mr. Newkirk was born March 12, 1961, in Festus, the son of Winona Newkirk of Hillsboro and the late Paul Newkirk.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers: James (Tammy) Newkirk of Hillsboro and William Keith (Sheila) Newkirk of Springfield; a daughter: Kelly (Mike) Dollar; three nieces: Nicole Newkirk of Hillsboro, Nicole Young of Springfield and Rachelle Schoefield of Springfield; a nephew: Jacob (Andrea) Newkirk of Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Makayla Clinton, Melany Dollar, Makenzie Dollar and Tyler Young, all of De Soto; two great-nieces: Nova Newkirk of Hillsboro and Hana Unnerstall of Hillsboro; and one great-grandchild: Aiden Strachan of De Soto.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the VFW Hall, 1651 Veterans Dr., in De Soto. Memorials may be made to any animal rescue charity. Arrangements were under the direction of American Mortuary and Cremation in St. Louis.
