Larry Matthew Courtois Jr., 54, formerly of Valles Mines died Aug. 6, 2021, at his home. Mr. Courtois was a mechanic and a heavy equipment salesman. He served in the U.S. Army for four years in the 3rd Infantry Division. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hot rods was passionate about fixing, building and racing cars. He will be remembered as a knowledgeable, charismatic and witty man who loved spending time with his family. Born Feb. 23, 1966, he was the son of Rosa (Frank) Bahr and the late Larry Courtois Sr. and the birth son of Helen (Rose) Elliott Thomure.
In addition to his mom, he is survived by his wife: Dawn Courtois; a daughter: Kaysha (Mikel Shook) Barks; a son: Zachary (Taylor) Coleman; three grandchildren: Makayla, Samantha and Tobias Shoo, with another on the way; his mother-in-law: Helen Conklin; five siblings: Tina Meyers, Vickie Weber, Mark (Tammy) Hopkins, Craig (Sandy) Hopkins, Bobbie Jo Thomure and Mindy (Jason) Courtois Hoffman; his cousins: Gary and Susie Mira and David (Angi) LaBrayere; Sarge and Sherry Jennings, TJ Aubuchon, Dino Richardson, Steve Blankenship and Mike and Tom Stanton; the Tree Farm Guys; his hunting and racing buddies; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother: Martha Carr; his grandmother: Georgia Courtois; and a brother: Denny.
A family memorial service is planned for September. Arrangements were under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home in Summerville.
