Larry Dale Wooten, 74, of Hillsboro died Feb. 22, 2018. Mr. Wooten was born April 18, 1943, in Stella, the son of the late James M. and Rosa Jewell (Lauderdale) Wooten. He was a 1960 graduate of Wheaton High School and a member of the Assembly of God faith. He had a very strong faith in God, and loved to be a blessing to others and to tell of His wondrous works. He enjoyed doing ministry visitations at nursing homes, hospitals and homes.
He is survived by three sons: Jimmy Wooten of Imperial, Timmy (Stephanie) Wooten of Lake St. Louis and Jerry (Stephanie) Wooten of Pevely; three daughters: Kathy Wooten of High Ridge, Trisha (Keith) Curtis of Desloge and Megan Bicklein, of Kaiserslautern, Germany; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Glen (Sherrie) Wooten of Carthage and Kenny (Sue) Wooten of Ironton; four sisters: Pat Thomas of Carthage, Ann (Don) Henson of Shell Knob, Janice Bagby of Carthage and Irene (DeWayne) Day of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Beverly Ray; three brothers: James Lee Wooten, Don Wooten and Carroll Wooten; and two sisters: Azalee Levy and Helen Quade.
A memorial gathering is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main Street, in De Soto.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 2, at White Funeral Home and Crematory, 196 Sale Barn Road, in Cassville. A funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brad Hudson. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter. Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory.
