Kenneth “Ken” Atzert, 76, of Arnold died Dec. 16, 2020. While working full-time, Mr. Atzert earned a bachelor’s degree in technology in 1977 from Washington University with certificates in structural design and construction management. A graduate of DuBourg High School, he was a member of the Army National Guard and Reserve. He was a Boy Scout leader, youth athletics coach and volunteer for Immaculate Conception Church and other organizations in Arnold. He enjoyed camping. Born Jan. 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Alvina (Eiler) and Edward Atzert.

He is survived by his wife: Margaret “Margie” (Mayer) Atzert, whom he married May 6, 1967; seven children: Debbie (Mark) Schanda, Eddie (Michelle) Atzert, Susie (Eric) Seel, Laurie (Don) Lewis, Mindy (Kevin) Thomas, John (Leah) Atzert and Mike (Amy) Atzert; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Joe; and a sister: Bea.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 Church Road, in Arnold. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pro-Papa Missions, 1765 Melody Lane, Arnold, 63010.
