Kenneth D. “Buck” Young, 81, of Fenton died Feb. 5, 2022. Mr. Young was a union carpenter who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was member of the VFW and enjoyed playing golf and Yahtzee, old Western films and spending time with his family. Born June 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Nella Melugin and Delmar Young.
He is survived by his wife: Sally (Philips) Young; four children: Wayne (Kathy) Young of Fenton, Tina (Bob) Vehige of Wentzville, Donna (Mike) Ribble of Cedar Hill and Cindy Young of St. Clair; 10 grandchildren: Kenny and Brian Young, Courtney Nieves, Anthony and Jason McGee, Jackie, Mike and Joe Ribble and Jake and Ricky Cull; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Daniel Young, Esta Watkins and Glen Young.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Drive, in Fenton, followed immediately by funeral services. Burial with full military honors will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, followed by a celebration of life at Andre’s South in south St. Louis County. Arrangements are under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, Fenton.
