Kathleen F. (Ayers) McCune, 82, Festus

Kathleen F. (Ayers) McCune, 82, of Festus died Sept. 18, 2023, in Festus. Mrs. McCune worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years before retirement and enjoyed volunteering for Mercy Hospice as well as spending time with her family. Born June 30, 1941, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Katherine K. (Kienzle) and Herbert B. Ayers.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years: William W. McCune of Festus; three sons: Keith (Laura) McCune of Barnhart, Kevin (Kelly) McCune of Mountain Home, Ark., and Chris (Amy) McCune of Johnstown, Colo.; a daughter: Jana Kelley of De Soto; eight grandchildren: Linda McCune, Jeffrey McCune, Matthew (Stephanie) McCune, Benjamin (Kaylee) McCune, Melissa (Derrik) Gibson, Aaron Phipps, Emma McCune and Katherine McCune; two great-grandchildren: Jameson and Lexa; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by several family members.

Services will be held at a later date at Selma American Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
