Judy V. Oker, 75, De Soto

Judy V. Oker, 75, of De Soto died July 19, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Oker was a homemaker. Born Feb. 27, 1947, in Valles Mines, she was the daughter of the late Ilene (Huskey) Bannister and Lloyd J. Danback. Her stepfather: Paul Bannister; and a stepmother: Alice Fay (Bourbon) Danback also preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by her husband: Martin Oker.

She is survived by four children: Tina (Scott Hagler) Sauer of Granite City, Ill., Christie (Mike) Banach, Robin Buchanon and Jessica (Donald) Rulo, all of De Soto; two godsons: Graham Boynton and Garrett Flynn, both of De Soto; six grandchildren: Katie (Ryan) Cornell, Caleb Buchanan, Zach and Jacob Banach, and Jed and Ellie Rulo; two great-grandchildren: Riley and Hadley Cornell; nine siblings: Ron (Evelyn) Danback of Wright City, Lloyd L. (Becky) Danback of Potosi, Keith Danback of St. Clair, Michael Danback of Potosi, Hope (Greg) Danback of St. Louis, Kenneth (Eloise) Stice of Chana, Ill., Deborah (James) Eddy of High Ridge, Sherry Bannister of Pevely and Leslie (Gary) O’Neal of Herculaneum; a sister-in-law: JoAnn Bannister Hurr of Bonne Terre; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law: David Dempsey and Joe Sauer; two siblings: Debbie Danback and Randy Bannister; a sister-in-law: Charlotte Danback; and a nephew: Ronnie Paul Eddy.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, at the New Apostolic Church, 4041 Maple Downs, in De Soto, officiated by Brett Steinbrueck. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
