JR. Johnson, 75, of De Soto died Feb. 10, 2016, at his home. Mr. Johnson was a machinist for the Pohlmann Co. and a member of Life Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, fishing and going to auctions. Born May 4, 1940, in Livingston County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Recie and Beatrice (Stokes) Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Phyllis (Yeley) Johnson; four sons: Ricky (Anita) Johnson of Pevely, Recie Johnson of St. Louis, Scott (Adriana) Morris of Cedar Hill and Chris (Jennifer) Morris of Hillsboro; two daughters: Rebecca (Mike) Hattemar of De Soto and Tasha (Benjamin) Rutledge of St. Louis; a brother: Ronnie (Carolyn) Johnson of Kentucky; three sisters: Mae (Charlie) Meece of Indiana, Ruth Lowery of Kentucky and Brenda Arnold of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: J.W. and Tony Johnson; and two brothers-in-law: Clarence Lowery and Bob Arnold.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Derry Bowling. Burial will be in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
