Joyce Marilyn Kelly, 91, of Festus died June 11, 2022, at Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum. Mrs. Kelly was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. She had worked as a waitress at the former Robinhood Restaurant in Pevely and Bonanza in Crystal City. She enjoyed dancing, ceramics, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Born March 15, 1931, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Marilyn (Brockman) and Robert John Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husband: Michael John Kelly.
She is survived by a daughter: Vicki Lynn (James “Jim”) Pratt of Festus; a son: James Michael “Jim” (Dawn) Kelly of Hillsboro; six grandchildren: Danielle Renee (Ray) Underwood, Renee Elizabeth (Tim) Killian, Morgan Dianne (Brennan Martin) Kelly, Robert John “RJ” (Savannah Klaus) Kelly, Miranda (Zach Harper) Walker and Austin Walker; seven great-grandchildren: Anthony, Chase, Emma, Reese, Andrew, Ireland and Timothy; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by a son: Robert John Kelly; and a sister: Jean Hansen.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Matthew Cheruparambil. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
