Joyce A. Harris, 80, of De Soto died Jan. 1, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker. Born March 30, 1942, in Brown Hollow, she was the daughter of the late Justine (Villmer) and Walter Sampson.
She is survived by her husband: Carl C. Harris, whom she married Feb. 15, 1964, in De Soto; two children: Dawn (Steve) Willcutt of Richwoods and Todd (Lillie) Harris of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren: Brittany (Cory) Deaton, MeKayla (William) Rhodes, Kaitlin Willcutt and Dylan (Kelbi) Mueller; five great-grandchildren: Olivia, Ryker, Peyton, Nora and Lila; and a brother: Jerry (Louise) Sampson of Lake Timberline.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Keith Harris and Troy “Nortie” Harris; six sisters: Joan Vaughn, Rita (Fabian) Pratt, Nazarene (Earl) Sheppard, Maxine (Joseph Jr. “Smokey”) Matthews, Patricia (Harold) Beckner and Janice (John Sr.) Whitter; and five brothers: Paul (Helen) Sampson, Chris (Della Mae) Sampson, Virgil (Dorothy) Sampson, Jude (Ce) Sampson and Thomas Sampson.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Matt Sutman. Burial will be in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Serenity Hospice, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
