Joseph B. "Joe" Williamson, 71, of De Soto died Feb. 22, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Williamson was a carpenter for Fisher & Fitzgerald. He also was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. In addition, he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Carpenters Local 2214 and Knights of Columbus 1185. He enjoyed watching the History Channel, fishing, hunting and baseball.
Born Sept. 28, 1946, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late John and Lucille (Yates) Williamson.
He is survived by his wife: Pauline C. (Dickinson) Williamson of De Soto; two children: Joe Williamson of French Village and Jill (George “Tony”) Carron of Omaha, Neb.; four siblings: John (Lucille) Williamson of El Paso, Texas, Jerry (Brenda) Williamson of Festus, James Williamson of De Soto and JayCee Williamson of Kansas City; and four grandchildren: Kameron Holmes, Kyleigh Williamson, Hannah Carron and Sarah Carron.
He was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Carol Williamson and Gail Williamson.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, with Father Alexander Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
