Joseph Anthony Catlow Sr., 62, of Valles Mines
Joseph Anthony Catlow Sr., 62, of Valles Mines died Nov. 15, 2021, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. Mr. Catlow was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a sales floor associate for Walmart in Farmington, and he attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in De Soto. Joe had a talent for playing musical instruments, including the accordion, guitar and organ, and he loved to sing. He loved spending time with his family, and he enjoyed crocheting. Born June 22, 1959, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Rose Marie (Leopold) and Arthur Schmitt Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Lesia (Crow) Catlow; a son: Joseph A. Catlow Jr. of Fredericktown; a daughter: Misty (Justin) Burris of Farmington; four siblings: Jerry (the late Sue Ann) Harmon of Kentucky, Arthur “Skip” (Connie) Schmitt of Kimmswick, Patti Erb of St. Louis and Eileen (Steven) Heard of Jefferson City; and a brother-in-law: Robert Fischer of Fredericktown.
He also was preceded in death by six siblings: a twin brother, Miller Catlow, as well as Karen Fischer, Robert McClary, Lori Catlow, William “Bill” Catlow and Mike Catlow,
Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral service at 4 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 18) at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Michael Merseal. Burial, with full military honors, will be at 9 a.m. Friday (Nov. 19) in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. A funeral procession to the cemetery will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Catlow family. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
