John W. Pikey-Kist, 37, of Crystal City died Oct. 13, 2017, in Jefferson County. Mr. Pikey-Kist was a machine operator for Edge Manufacturing in Pevely and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Born March 24, 1980, in Creve Coeur, he was the son of Susan Jean (Bogue) Pikey Willis of Crystal City and Christopher R. (Lisa) Kist of Pomona Park, Fla.
In addition to his parents and stepmother, he is survived by his wife: Sara Joyce (Woodland) Kist of Hillsboro; two daughters: Abby M. Kist and Hailey Rose Kist, both of Hillsboro; his grandparents: Wanda Jones of Minnesota and Herman Kist of Missouri; a son: Ivan Joseph Kist of Hillsboro; two sisters: Anna J. Willis of Wright City and Christiana (Derik) Sullins of Florida; a brother: Alan J. Willis of Crystal City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jeanelle and William Bogue; and a brother: Glenn Pikey Jr.
A memorial gathering is at 4 p.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Randy Gray. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
