John W. Hensley, 36, of Pevely died June 24, 2020 in Pevely. Mr. Hensley was a civil engineer for Crawford, Murphy and Tilley and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely. He loved to play hockey, target shooting and driving his Jeep. Born Sept. 14, 1983, in Chesterfield, he was the son of Richard W. and Barbara A. (Rottler) Hensley of De Soto.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Laura CE (Pigg) Hensley, whom he married on Aug. 18, 2012, in Crystal City; three daughters: Catherine AA Hensley, Lillian CR Hensley and Elizabeth AM Hensley, all of Pevely; a sister: Julie C. (Byron) Rader of Valley Center, Kan.; a brother: Michael D. (Hillary) Hensley of Valles Mines; his father-in-law: Larry Pigg of Pevely; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Catherine A. (Sass) Pigg.
A memorial gathering is at 5 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Zion Lutheran Church, 310 Central St., in Pevely. Memorials may be made to the family for the education of the Hensley children. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
