John Saverio Rios, 63, of Festus died June 12, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Rios was the lead guitarist with the bands “Alias” and “Firepenny,” playing in venues all over the St. Louis area and in Illinois. He was a member of SNPJ Lodge 107 in St. Louis and enjoyed working with rescue dogs. Born May 30, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Patrina (Impastato) and John G. Rios Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Janet (Skiles) Rios of Festus; and beloved pets Shadow, Macie Grace, Pedro and Nickie.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri, 1201 Macklind Ave., St. Louis, 63110. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
