Reynolds, Jack

John J. “Jack” Reynolds Jr., 88, of St. Louis died Oct. 30, 2019, at his home. Mr. Reynolds was a retired account executive with Marsh & McLennan Agency. He later worked as a funeral assistant and chauffer for a few local funeral homes, a job he truly enjoyed. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of St. Louis County American Legion Post 111 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was born Dec. 30, 1930, in St. Louis, the son of the late Vera (Rolf) and John J. Reynolds Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Margaret M. (Rohrbach) Reynolds, whom he married on Jan. 19, 1952, in St. Louis; five children: Thomas (JoAnn) Reynolds of St. Louis, Joan (Gary) Schlichtig of Imperial, Michelle (Don) Overman of St. Louis,  Barbara (Mike) Gregory of St. Louis and Sharon (Barry) Fisher of Arnold; two sisters-in-law: Adele Reynolds and Connie Rohrbach, both of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bob and Larry Reynolds; and two grandchildren: Christine Reynolds and Bradley Gregory.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4220 Ripa Ave., in St. Louis. Mr. Ryenolds chose to be cremated. Burial of ashes with full military honors will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made in the form of Masses in Mr. Reynolds’ honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba.
