John Henry “Jake” Taylor, 76, of Hillsboro died March 25, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Taylor was a specialty products manager for the Marcus-James Co., and had served in the Missouri National Guard. He was born May 19, 1943, in De Soto, the son of the late Marvin E. and Antoinette “Tony” (Christ) Taylor. He spent much of his youth with his aunt and uncle: the late Clara and Byron “Barney” Schubel.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia “Pat” (Lane) Taylor of Hillsboro; a son: Jacob (Phoenix Lee) Taylor of Hillsboro; two brothers: Don (Kathy) Taylor of De Soto and Ken (Sheryl) Taylor of New Bloomfield; a sister-in-law: Cathy Riggs of Cuba, Mo.; a brother-in-law: Alan (Christina) Lane of Houston, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
