John George Langelier, 84, of Festus died Nov. 26, 2020, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Langelier was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and served during the Cuban missile crisis. He was a charter member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1230. Born May 11, 1936, in Festus, he was the son of the late Catherine Elizabeth (Basler) and Lambert F. Langelier.
He is survived by a sister: Kathleen Ellis of Festus; a brother: Larry (Jerry) Langelier of Arnold; a sister-in-law: Becky Langelier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Eileen (the late Robert) Herrell; two brothers: Earl (the late Betty) Langelier and William “Bill” Langelier; and a brother-in-law: Jim Ellis.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.
