John E. Kreitler, 86, of Barnhart died Sept. 22, 2019, at his home. Mr. Kreitler was the owner of Kreitler Construction Co. and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Arnold Eagles, Elks, American Legion, VFW and the Mattise Club. Born Jan. 21, 1933, in River Aux Vases, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Allgire) Kreitler. He was preceded in death by his wife: Bernadine (Dallas) Kreitler.
He is survived by two sons: Brian (Michelle) Kreitler and Jeff (Laura) Kreitler; four grandchildren: Elizabeth (Michael) Stuesse, Jacob Kreitler, Kelsey (Stefan) Wilkes and Brianne Kreitler; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonio Road, in Imperial. Burial with full military honors is in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice, 1487 Hwy. 61, Suite C, Festus, 63028. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
